B&E Run the Bridge

In 2010, B&E announced a major new sponsorship initiative, signing up as the naming-rights sponsor for the inaugural Hobart Run the Bridge Fun Run. Since then the event has gone from strength to strength and in 2013 attracted more than 2,700 participants from all sections of the local community, including elite runners, joggers, walkers and people of all ages and fitness levels.

An iconic course ... the Hobart Run the Bridge course takes in some of Hobart's most notable landmarks starting at Bellerive Oval, travelling through Bellerive and Clarence, then across the Tasman Bridge and finishing right in the heart of Hobart at Salamanca.

2013 race wrap up

On Sunday 17 February, earlier risers turned out for the 2013 B&E Hobart Run the Bridge.

A record field of 2700 runners and walkers took part in the event which included some of Hobart’s most iconic areas - commencing at Bellerive Oval, winding through the streets of Clarence, across the Tasman Bridge and finishing at Princes Wharf on Hobart’s waterfront.

Liam Adams set a new course record on his way to victory, crossing the line in a blistering 29 minutes 15 seconds. Nick McCormick and Ben St Lawrence were hot on his heels with only 1 second separating, first, second and third place.

Lara Tamsett, previous winner of both the Burnie Ten and B&E Launceston Ten, won the women’s race in a time of 33 minutes 33 seconds.

The 2013 winners – Liam Adams and Lara Tamsett, made a special appearance at the B&E Promotional Booth to sign B&E hats and drink bottles. They were joined by Karinna Fyfe who came second in the women’s race.

Our new B&E cars were a big part of the day, with one car carrying the timing clock and the other car promoting the B&E brand at the finish line.
