Give Me Five for Kids Telethon

B&E Personal Banking is proud to be a major supporter of the 2012 Give Me Five for Kids Telethon which was held on Tuesday 26 June, hosted by Southern Cross Television.

Give Me 5 For Kids is a national annual fundraiser which runs for the entire month of June raising funds for the local Children's Ward to buy much needed medical equipment that assists in helping seriously ill children. The Telethon is just one of a number of events which took place in June in Tasmania – other events which have already taken place include a Children’s Dance Concert, Wheelie Bin Drive and a Movie Night.

The 2012 Give Me 5 for Kids Telethon raised more than $160,000! Overall, the 2012 Give Me 5 for Kids Program in Tasmania raised $330,000. Thank you Tasmania!

The 2012 funds were officially handed over to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) in mid-July. At the handover, the LGH provided examples of how the funds allocated will be used:

  • Two infant resuscitation tables/equipment for Scottsdale and the LGH Department of Emergency.
  • Upgrade 4K (children's ward) paediatric sleep studies equipment to the latest technology.
  • Purchase of additional oxygen blenders.
  • Purchase of an ECG machine for the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.
